WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE PARISH

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

The King of love my Shepherd is,
Whose goodness faileth never,
I nothing lack if I am His
And He is mine forever.

MEETING ROOM CAFÉ

The Meeting Room Café is on the first Saturday of the month, and the next one, on Saturday 2nd December, is our special Christmas Café.

Our Christmas Café will also host local crafters selling amazing goodies perfect for your loved ones at Christmas! Any local crafter who would like to sell their homemade goods at the café is very welcome. Each table will cost just £5. Please contact Kate (Meeting Room Cafe Volunteer Manager) at kate@saast.cymru for more details and to book. We will have spaces for ten stalls, and will endeavour to have different crafts on each stall, to offer our café visitors a diverse and vibrant experience.

Come and enjoy our monthly veggie and vegan community café at affordable prices!
We are completely volunteer run and strive to provide an open, relaxing community space for Cathays to come together and unite whilst enjoying a drink, cake or something warmer. There is live music each month and various craft and jewellery stalls will make an appearance.

The Meeting Room is a fully inclusive community venture, held within the Church of St Andrew and St Teilo, Cardiff. Open again -Saturday 2nd December in St. Teilo's, 11.00am - 3.00pm.

CHRISTMAS APPEAL - MARY'S MEALS - THE BACKPACK PROJECT

Many children receiving Mary’s Meals don’t have basic learning tools such as pencils and notepads. You can support them to get the most out of their lessons by collecting the school equipment the children urgently need, to fill the backpacks we already have. For many children, a Mary’s Meals backpack will be the first gift they have ever received. Items needed: pens, pencils, pencil crayons, rubbers, rulers, pencil sharpeners, exercise books, small ball, plastic spoon, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap. Boxes will be available in church. The special service will take place at 5.00pm on Sunday 26th November in St. Michael’s. This 40 minute service is by popular request as people missed having a gift service last year. Thanks to all who have donated gifts, and to the Wives and others for packing the backpacks. Much appreciated!.

PILGRIMS ON A JOURNEY

A course to help us put into words our experience of the presence and grace of God to be led by John Morgans, who along with his wife Norah, are a gift to the Parish of Cathays. The six sessions reflect the beginning of a programme of exploration: beginning where we are as “mysterious” human beings in a vast “mysterious” universe, “what it’s all about… trying to make sense of our own lives ... trying to make sense of our world.” In these six sessions, we begin our exploration and discover, to our astonishment and gratitude, that the mysterious God has and is sharing life and love with us. We hope that these few weeks will help each and every one of us. We will be giving and receiving from each other and discovering God’s presence and grace amongst us. It will help us prepare for the great festival of Christmas. This Tuesday sees the third session of our course. Hot soup will be available from 6.30pm. The evening starts at 7pm and will be finished by 8.15pm. in St. Michael’s Church.
