WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE PARISH

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

St. John the Baptist appears as the boundary between the two testaments. As representative of the past, he is born of elderly parents; as herald of the new age, he is declared to be a prophet while still in the womb of his mother. For while yet unborn he leapt in Elizabeth’s womb at the arrival of the blessed Mary.
St. Augustine of Hippo

WELCOME TO ALL

All, all, all are welcome regardless of race, nationality, gender, sexuality, or disability. The Church is listed by Changing Attitude as an inclusive Church, by Inclusive Church, and by the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement - South Wales as "gay friendly".

THE FUTURE OF ST. TEILO'S

Visitors to this website may be aware of the controversy regarding the future of St. Teilo's as a result of a recent decision made by the Bishop of Llandaff, the Right Reverend June Osborne. The current (September 2019) situation is that the Development Group will continue negotiations with the Bishop and the Resource Church in the hope that both the Resource Church and the St. Teilo's congregation can worship at different times in the same building, working together with and for the local community. Substantial repairs to the building will start after Christmas and, whilst they take place, the current congregation will worship at St Michael's. The Resource Church will not open until September 2020 at the earliest. Because of the building works St.Teilo Arts will not be using the building for the foreseeable future.

THE PARISH OF CATHAYS

St. Teilo's and St. Michael's are the two churches which together comprise the Parish of Cathays. Further information about the Parish and the two churches can be found on the Parish website.
