WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE PARISH

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

Every time we say ‘I believe in the Holy Spirit,’ we mean that we believe there is a living God able and willing to enter human personality and change it.
J.B. Phillips

THE FUTURE OF ST. TEILO'S

Visitors to this website may be aware of the controversy regarding the future of St. Teilo's as a result of a recent decision made by the Bishop of Llandaff, the Right Reverend June Osborne. The current (10th May 2019) situation is summarised in this statement by St. Teilo's Development Group.

TAIZÉ SERVICE

On Sunday 16th June at 7.30pm in St. Telo's there will be a Taizé Service.

CONFIRMATION SERVICE 23RD JULY

Deborah and Ross from the Parish will be confirmed at St. Catherine's Church, Kings Road, Pontcanna on Sunday 23rd July at 10.30am and consequently there will be no services at St. Michael's and St. Teilo's that morning. However at 4pm in the afternoon there will be a "celebration Servive" in St. Michael's to welcome the newly confirmed. Everyone is very welcome at both services.

MEETING ROOM CAFÉ

Come and enjoy our monthly veggie and vegan community café at affordable prices!
We are completely volunteer run and strive to provide an open, relaxing community space for Cathays to come together and unite whilst enjoying a drink, cake or something warmer. There is live music each month and various craft and jewellery stalls will make an appearance.

The Meeting Room is a fully inclusive community venture, held within the Church of St Andrew and St Teilo, Cardiff, usually on the first Saturday of each month. The next opening will be on Saturday 6th July, 11am - 2pm.

THE CHOIR

The choir meets on Wednesdays in St.Teilo's at 7.45 pm, and on Sundays at 10.30 am before the morning service. New members are welcome in all voice parts. It is a young and very friendly choir directed by Alex Thacker, a graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Musical Director of the Llandaff Cathedral Choral Society.
We are very sorry to announce that, after 8 years of faithful service, Alex is stepping down as Musical Director of the Choir at the end of the summer term, following his appointment as Musical Director of Cheltenham Choral Society. We are very grateful for the wonderful contribution Alex has made in making music a beautiful and significant part of our worship at St. Teilo's. On 7th July there will be an Evensong followed by a barbecue to show our appeciation for Alex's time at St. Teilo's.

THE PARISH OF CATHAYS

St. Teilo's and St. Michael's are the two churches which together comprise the Parish of Cathays. Further information about the Parish and the two churches can be found on the Parish website.
