CHRISTMAS APPEAL - MARY'S MEALS - THE BACKPACK PROJECT

Many children receiving Mary’s Meals don’t have basic learning tools such as pencils and notepads. You can support them to get the most out of their lessons by collecting the school equipment the children urgently need, to fill the backpacks we already have. For many children, a Mary’s Meals backpack will be the first gift they have ever received. Items needed: pens, pencils, pencil crayons, rubbers, rulers, pencil sharpeners, exercise books, small ball, plastic spoon, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap. Boxes will be available in church. The special service will take place at 5.00pm on Sunday 26th November and we will need the items to sort by 19th November.

PILGRIMS ON A JOURNEY

A course to help us put into words our experience of the presence and grace of God to be led by John Morgans, who along with his wife Norah, are a gift to the Parish of Cathays. The six sessions reflect the beginning of a programme of exploration: beginning where we are as “mysterious” human beings in a vast “mysterious” universe, “what it’s all about… trying to make sense of our own lives ... trying to make sense of our world.” In these six sessions, we begin our exploration and discover, to our astonishment and gratitude, that the mysterious God has and is sharing life and love with us. We hope that these few weeks will help each and every one of us. We will be giving and receiving from each other and discovering God’s presence and grace amongst us. It will help us prepare for the great festival of Christmas. The course will run from Tuesday 14th November for 6 Tuesdays and ending therefore on the 19th of December. It will begin at 7.00pm and end at 8.15 in St. Michael’s Church. All welcome. Can you just indicate to Caroline if you are coming so that we can provide enough materials: Caroline .
