WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE PARISH

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

Forgiveness is the key that unlocks the door of resentment and the handcuffs of hate. It is a power that breaks the chains of bitterness and the shackles of selfishness.
Corrie ten Boom

SUNDAY ON MONDAY

"Sunday on Monday" resumes on Monday 18th September in St. Michael’s at 3.30pm. Thanks in advance to all the team - it wouldn’t happen without you!

SUNDAY 1ST OCTOBER - HARVEST SUNDAY

Sunday October 1st is the annual Cardiff Marathon, which means there will be no morning services in the parish, but it is also Harvest Sunday and there will be a Eucharist for the whole parish at 4pm in St. Michael’s, followed by a traditional Harvest Supper. Food lists will be going up soon!

Our Harvest Appeal this year is for Rubicon Dance. Envelopes are available today, and for up to two weeks after the Harvest Supper. Rubicon Dance has worked for the last 41 years in Cardiff and Newport to support people of all ages and abilities. Part of its work has been providing dance and movement programmes for nearly the last six years to aid a child’s recovery when in hospital. Currently the team delivers a two-hour block every Monday morning. Rubicon is a registered charity and all funding for their work in children’s hospitals has to be raised from raffles, cake sales, and charitable giving.

<p>To quote a specialist at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales: One of the most important things about the Rubicon sessions in the children's hospital is the opportunity it gives a child to try something different and the fact it helps them to understand that their bodies still work even after surgery or trauma and most important of all that they can have fun in hospital.

Please give as generously as you can.
