WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE PARISH

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

MEETING ROOM CAFÉ

The Meeting Room Café will open next on Saturday 1st December with CHRISTMAS CAROLS.

Come and enjoy our monthly veggie and vegan community café at affordable prices!
We are completely volunteer run and strive to provide an open, relaxing community space for Cathays to come together and unite whilst enjoying a drink, cake or something warmer. There is live music each month and various craft and jewellery stalls will make an appearance.

The Meeting Room is a fully inclusive community venture, held within the Church of St Andrew and St Teilo, Cardiff, usually on the first Saturday of each month. The next opening will be on Saturday 1st December, 11.30am - 2.30pm.

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 11TH NOVEMBER

The Parish Remembrance service will be held at 7pm in St. Teilo’s, with the choir. Please come along and attend this service which will mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the Great War.

PILGRIMS ON A JOURNEY

Pilgrims on a Journey begins this Tuesday, 13th November, at 7pm in St. Michael’s, a course to help us put into words our experience of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, led by John Morgans. We hope that these few weeks will help us all. We will be giving and receiving from each other and discovering the gift of Jesus, the Word made Flesh amongst us. It will help us prepare for the great festival of Christmas.

MARY'S MEALS BACKPACK PROJECT

Mary’s Meals Backpack Project: With our beautiful Christmas season nearly upon us, it’s time to really begin work on our Christmas mission. This year, as you will know, our Parish of Cathays is once again supporting Mary’s Meals and the Backpack Project. This project is very close to our hearts here in the parish, and we are hoping to send 50 filled backpacks to enable children to attend school with the basic school supplies they need. It would be wonderful if we could collect the items displayed on the posters in our churches, and even encourage friends to make a back pack and support the special, very short, child-friendly service for the bringing of the completed and checked backpacks, which will take place at 5pm on Sunday November 25th in St. Michael’s church.

ADVENT CAROL SERVICE

This year's Advent Carol Service will be held on Sunday evening, 2nd December, at 7pm with refreshments afterwards.

THE CHOIR

The choir meets on Wednesdays in St.Teilo's at 7.45 pm, and on Sundays at 10.30 am before the morning service. New members are welcome in all voice parts. It is a young(ish) and very friendly choir directed by Alex Thacker, a recent graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Conductor of the Llandaff Cathedral Choral Society The Choir is currently on its summer break and will return in September.
