WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE PARISH

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

The life of faith is a continually renewed victory over doubt, a continually renewed grasp of meaning in the midst of meaningless.
Lesslie Newbigin

JOYFUL NEWS

An enormous thank you for all the generous donations to The Huggard Centre and The Wallich . The amount raised was astounding. £260 has been raised to date, plus 4 boxes of products for distributing between the two homeless centres. Wonderful Easter news. Last week’s breakfast, raffle and sale of egg baskets raised £100 for St Michael's. Thank you so much to all involved. And lastly, the building of the new kitchen in St. Teilo’s is about to begin! Thank you to those who helped raise the funds and those overseeing this exciting project.

EASTER WINGS by GEORGE HERBERT

Lord, who createdst man in wealth and store,

Though foolishly he lost the same,

Decaying more and more,

Till he became

 Most poore:

With thee

 O let me rise

 As larks, harmoniously,

 And sing this day thy victories;

Then shall the fall further the flight in me.

My tender age in sorrow did beginne

And still with sicknesses and shame.

 Thou didst so punish sinne,

 That I became

Most thinne.

 With thee

 Let me combine,

 And feel thy victorie:

For, if I imp my wing on thine,

Affliction shall advance the flight in me.
